DHA medical fitness centres in Dubai are the official testing centres where every new or renewing residence visa applicant aged 18 and above completes the visa medical test. Search results still call them DHA centres, but the official Dubai government page now says the centres are managed by Dubai Health, and the Dubai Health website lists 25 of them.
This guide lists all 25 centres by area, shows verified opening hours, explains the 6 to 24 hour and 30 minute result options, and walks through documents, booking and common mistakes. For the wider test, costs and failure rules, read our guide to the UAE medical fitness test for residence visa.

You apply through the Salem Portal, visit one centre with your documents, complete the health check, blood collection and chest X ray, and receive the result by SMS or email. Centre names and locations can change, so check the centre page on Dubai Health before you travel. Third party lists vary in size and often miss newer centres such as Circle Mall JVC and the Smart Salem centres.
The best centre is the one that opens when you can attend and gives the result speed you need. Use these rules of thumb, then confirm the hours on the centre page.
Opening hours differ from centre to centre, and most centres open for fewer hours on Friday. The table shows the hours printed on seven centre pages on 2 November 2026.
| Centre | Monday to Thursday | Friday |
|---|---|---|
| Al Lusaily | 7:30 am to 3:30 pm | 7:30 am to 12 pm |

Some centre pages show two sets of hours for different services. For example, the Al Karama page lists 7 am to 8 pm Monday to Saturday for occupational health and a wider daily listing for the facility, so call 800 60 before you travel if the hours matter.
Results are typically ready within 24 hours, and Dubai Health states that Premium exams return results in 6 to 24 hours. Smart Salem VIP service returns results in 30 minutes. The centre sends the result by SMS or email, and you can follow it on the Dubai Health status page.
A simple worked example shows why timing matters. If you do the test at a Premium centre at 10 am on Monday, plan for the result between 4 pm Monday and 10 am Tuesday. Book the visa stamping or Emirates ID appointment for Tuesday afternoon, not Monday, so you do not wait for the result at a counter.
You complete the exam in four steps: apply on the Salem Portal, visit a centre with your documents, complete the tests and receive the result. The service is issued under Cabinet Resolution No. 75 of 2022, as stated on the Dubai Health service page.

Dubai Health lists four documents for the medical fitness exam.
Keep a clear phone copy of the e visa as a backup, but take the originals of your Emirates ID or passport. The photo must have a white background, so avoid using an old photo with a coloured backdrop.
The visa medical test includes a health check, blood collection and a chest X ray. Vaccinations are given only to certain profession categories. The test checks for communicable diseases, and applicants must be 18 or older.
The official pages do not publish a disease by disease list, so avoid websites that promise exact outcomes. For failure and treatment rules, see our medical fitness test guide.
The medical fitness exam is for the residence visa, occupational health screening is for professions that need an Occupational Health Card, and the unified health screening combines both. The centre pages on Dubai Health list all three services.
| Service | Who needs it |
|---|---|
| Medical fitness exam | Residence visa applicants and renewals |
| Occupational health screening | Some professions in Dubai that require an Occupational Health Card |
| Unified health screening | People who need both in one visit |
If your job needs a health card as well, read our guides to the EHS health card and health card renewal in the UAE so you book the right service.
Dubai Health lists 25 medical fitness centres today, while the Government of Dubai page still says 23. The Dubai Health centre page is the more detailed and current source, so this guide follows it.
Other websites show lists of different sizes, so treat any list that does not match the Dubai Health page with care.
Most delays come from missing papers, wrong timing or an outdated centre list.
DHA medical fitness centres in Dubai are easy to use once you pick the right location and arrive with the four required documents. Dubai Health lists 25 medical fitness centres in Dubai. The Government of Dubai page still shows 23, which is an older figure.
Smart Salem centres are the fastest, with VIP results in 30 minutes according to Dubai Health. Premium exams at other centres give results in 6 to 24 hours.
You apply through the Salem Portal and then visit a centre with your documents. Dubai Health also offers an online appointment page, and you can call 800 60 to confirm how a centre handles visits.
You need a completed registration form, your original valid Emirates ID or passport, a recent passport sized photo with a white background and an e visa copy.
The result arrives by SMS or email, and you can check the status on the Dubai Health medical fitness check page or through the DDA link on the Government of Dubai page.
The Government of Dubai page says applicants aged 18 and above must take the test for a residence visa.
Many centres open on Friday with shorter hours, such as 7:30 am to 12 pm at Al Lusaily, Al Muhaisnah and Zaabeel. Bur Dubai lists 7 am to 10 pm, so check the centre page first.
The medical fitness exam is for your residence visa, while the health card or Occupational Health Card applies to certain professions. Dubai Health also offers a unified screening that combines both.
The official Dubai pages do not address this case, so call 800 60 or check with your visa issuer before you go.
